Dr. William Henry Drummond National Poetry Contest1970-1974
The contest, sponsored by the Cobalt Miners' Festival Committee and the Town of Cobalt (ON), was intended to attract attention to this lovely northern area and to encourage Northerners to speak for themselves. The awards were named for Dr. William Henry Drummond who, with his brothers, developed and operated the Drummond Mines. Winners were presented with a trophy made of local silver.
