Authors Awards

1977-1996
English

Administered by the Periodical Marketers of Canada (formerly the Periodical Distributors of Canada), the awards were originally given for the best fiction and non-fiction books published in paperback and for the outstanding article and short story appearing in a mass market Canadian periodical. These may have originally been called the Quill Awards. The awards for Book of the Year and Author of the Year were first given in 1981. Awards in other categories began in various years. Cash awards and a scroll were given to the winner.
